While I would never say that I have really mastered the web site publishing concept, I will admit this is not my first home page experience. I’ve actually been the ‘brains’ behind a few web experiments in my time, and with this page I’d like to commemorate my fondest creation, Clippersports.com.
My tribute found below, I will aptly title Glory Days (excuse me, I need to wipe away a tear):
GLORY DAYS
Here, I will spare you much of the tech. and development details of this near-ancient piece of Internet history -born during one fateful snow day stuck home from school way back in December of 2001.
If you are curious though, I have put together a posting about my obvious and maybe not so obvious remembrances of this simpler time on the information superhighway. FOUND HERE

Clippersports.com grew into a one stop shop for scores, standings, features, photos, and video clips from all sports at little Newburyport High School, in north east Massachusetts. It became my labor of love for roughly a year and a half, where over that time I saw people really liking what they saw and got truly excited that people were even coming back for more. Over the time I did receive some neat recognition, and was armed with some good material for college interviews but

| overall I was happy just to be going with the flow and enjoying the experience.
Ideally, I would have had it continue on in the hands of a younger classmate, but in a school of about 650 the right mix of person who wasn’t overwhelmed with posting web content and also had some personal stake in the athletics scene was just tough to find. So the site did manage to fade away after my graduation in June 2002.
Now, of course, a half decade later we all know the big business of video on the internet with YouTube being purchased for $1.65 billion, and the business model of thousands of companies being sustained simply from advertising of their site (excuse me, I think I’m gonna need a whole box of tissues).

So needless to say, I did not make a penny off of the website, but it was truly a great time, an eye-opening experience and on a narcissistic note, I can relive the dream (cough, cough) over and over again.

As you can see, I’ve included some of my favorite postings queued in the embedded movie player above.

I would also really like to thank those who helped me to produce content, gave me support, or simply acted as my audience. It really does let you know you’ve done something right when you can register a few thousand hits a month when your source of marketing is word of mouth and fliers taped to classroom hallways. Thanks again, everybody.
y the way, if anybody who graduated Newburyport High School between 2001 and 2005 thinks I may have a video clip of them they would like to get their hands on, feel free to get in touch. Enjoy.
